When I am bored (and sometimes when I should be working on other things), I enjoy poking around the web looking for extant clothing in museum collections.
Today, I have been collecting my Edwardian wardrobe. I have a very long Word Document full of clothes and shoes and nightgowns and parasols and other accessories love, but here are a few samples:
- For keeping the sun off my delicate (ha ha) complexion.
- For attending charity meetings, or playing croquet
- For promenading along the avenue on the arm of my beau (who is attired in an exquisitely tailored suit, of course).
- For sipping (herbal) tea and eating little cakes.
- For leaving calling cards
- For going to the seaside
